Libraries in South Australia

South Australia has an extensive library network comprising our State Library and over 140 public libraries and joint school/community libraries throughout metropolitan and country areas.

Libraries are places that you can visit in person, or via the web, to borrow or use a wide range of materials including newspapers, books for children, young people and adults, magazines, CDs and DVDs.

You may also be able to do some or all of the following:

  • use computers to access the internet or for personal use
  • join a book club
  • take your children to storytime
  • use the wireless internet
  • research local history
  • use the services of a JP
  • use a  photocopier, fax, printer, scanner or shredder
