The Port Augusta Substance Misuse Service is a strictly confidential 6 days a week 24 hour service designed to me the community's needs. We have alcohol and drug care/field workers that are trained in the areas of alcohol and drug use, first aid and basic counselling/referral skills


 

Services
  • Mobile Assistance Patrol (MAP) A mobile service for intoxicated people in public places transporting them to the Sobering Up Unit or somewhere else safe.
  • Sobering Up Unit (SUU) The unit provides a safe and caring environment for clients who are under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Our aim is to minimize harm for our clients, their family and the community. Referrals on alcohol and drug use issues.
  • Clean Needle Program (CNP) Any person who uses drugs intravenously can use this service. It is strongly receommended used needles and syringes are exchanged for new ones. Disposal containers of various sizes are supplied on request.
