The parks contain one of the few pieces of remnant Mallee vegetation close to Adelaide. There is only foot traffic allowed through the parks and no camping or caravanning is allowed. There are no facilities or water supplies., Ferries McDonald Conservation Park is an 845 hectare mallee park, home of the endangered malleefowl, located on Chaunceys Line and Ferries McDonald Rd, Monarto South, 25km from Murray Bridge., Monarto Conservation Park has a range of Mount Lofty species and mallee vegetation. It is home to many bird species, echidnas and kangaroos, Walking Trails in both Parks Accessible 24 hours day
