Eligibility
Australians citizens aged 18 or over are eligible to enrol for Federal, State and local government elections
Comment
A Commonwealth statutory authority responsible for conducting federal elections and referendums and maintaining Electoral Rolls.
Enrolment forms are available at official Post Offices, Medicare, Centrelink and ATO as well as www.aec.gov.au. Postal voting is available upon announcement of each election. Electors can apply in writing for a postal vote or using the form available on the web.
People who are housebound, or who live more than 20km from a polling place, can apply to become a General Postal Voter (GPV) and have forms sent out before each election
