Coordinates care and consults with people with a terminal illness in their place of residence, hospitals and in-patient care in the hospice
Services
- Palliative care - medical and nursing care to patients and their families
- Bereavement support and counselling
- Caregiver Network Service - to find local community members who would be willing to assist a local carer
- Complementary therapy - including massage and relaxation
- Education in palliative care - community, undergraduate, postgraduate, professional
- Liaison with general practitioners, hospital professionals, Royal District Nursing Service (SA) Inc. and domiciliary care services
- Research in palliative care
- Social work services for in-patients
- Volunteer program - volunteers provide respite, practical and emotional support
