The society works with the South Australia Police to administer the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. Boarding and refuge facilities are provided for animals at the RSPCA Animal Shelter, 25 Meyer Rd, Lonsdale 5160, tel. 8382 0888 (dogs), 8382 9962 (cats). The Animal Shelter is open Mon - Fri 10am - 5pm; Sat, Sun, public holidays (except Christmas Day and Good Friday) 10am - 2pm
