Before traps can be supplied, residents must acquire a permit from the Department Environment & Heritage (Black Hill National Park at Maryvale Road, Athelstone). The permit will only authorise possums to be trapped and released. Trapped possums must be released within 24 hours of capture (released at sunset on day of capture) and released within 50 metres of capture site.
