Eligibility
Telstra customers with a disability that results in them being unable to use a standard telephone (or who have a person with such a disability in their household) may be eligible for specialised equipment and/or services.
All items, with the exception of TTY and Cochlear Implant Telephone Adaptors can be ordered by calling the Disability Enquiry Hotline. Applicants for TTY and/or Cochlear Implant Telephone Adaptors are required to complete an application form which is available by calling the Disability Enquiry Hotline. The application specifying the nature and degree of the disability must be completed and signed by an appropriately qualified health professional such as a doctor, audiologist, audiometrist, speech pathologist, physiotherapist, opthalmologist or optometrist.

Telstra, as the national Universal Service Provider, has an obligation to supply customer equipment to enable people with disabilities to access the Standard Telephone Service. Telstra's Disability Equipment Program offers a range of customer equipment for use by people with disabilities
