Eligibility
Residents who demonstrate special needs have a higher priority when accessing HACC services., This may include:, people who suffer with dementia or other related disorders, frail and disabled persons who are isolated, people with special needs, people from an indigenous or culturally and linguistically diverse background.
Services
- The Home and Community Care (HACC) program is jointly funded by the City of West Torrens and State and Commonwealth Governments to provide home support services to people who are frail aged, people with a disability and their carers.
- Domestic in-home support: up to 12 hours of general domestic assistance, such as vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning bathroom/toilet and a yearly spring clean.
- Home maintenance, safety & security: gutter cleaning, installation of security locks, smoke detectors and grab rails, minor house repairs, minor electrical repairs, minor plumbing repairs, minor carpentry repairs, annual removal of rubbish, tree trimming for safety and security.
- Volunteer support program for socially isolated clients who require assistance with activities including shopping and banking.
