The Friends of Burton is a non-incorporated body which has a watching brief on the Burton Pioneer Cemetery. Group members are keen to see that the cemetery is suitably maintained as a memorial to some of the early pioneer settlers in the district. The Friends of Burton organises a bi-annual gathering that is held on site. The gatherings provide an opportunity for an exchange of historical information and a renewal of friendships
