8258 7286
The City of Salisbury operates a program for the frail aged including respite for carers two days weekly (Mon and Fri) at the Para Hills Centre. The Para Hills Club program is a HACC funded project and hosted by the City of Salisbury. The program provides respite for carers and reduces isolation for people in the community. The aim of the program is to provide a range of activity and leisure choices to its members. An assessment process is performed to ensure the suitability of the program to meet specific needs of each individual client, and to meet HACC information requirements. The program offers a social outlet and the opportunity for friendship, to feel valued including community interaction. It also includes transport to and from the program. An Advisory Committee meets quarterly to discuss issues, community needs for clients and give general information which benefit the members of the program. The program is staffed by a Coordinator and volunteers providing social support along with a range of activities and occasional outings
